    Development is progressing at a solid pace and a large milestone has finally been hit. On top of that some really exciting engine advancements have been completed!

    Been struggling with multiple personal issues and mental health issues during the year but I hope to be back to normal by June. More information will be released in the following months on where things are at and other new and exciting announcements.

    E3 2021 is here! What better time is there than the week of E3 to show some progress and something new to get the juices flowing as We slowly ramp up.

    CORPSES 'N SOULS MEGA lighting

    Corpses 'N Souls now houses a Ultra MEGA [ New ] lighting engine! Every pixel of journey will be dynamically light in real-time and with a performance to match!

    Here you can see the new lighting engine that has been added to the game plus engine. Dynamic lighting has been brought into the Next Gen era and no expense has been spared, witness 2D lighting like never seen before! No lights where baked in these screen shots.

    Corpses 'N Souls now houses a [ New ] water system plus FX! Your journey above and beneath water just got leveled up!

    Here you can see the new water FX that have been added to the game plus engine. Lighting, multi-textures, multiple shader layers, animation, transparencies and reflections have all been added!

    COVID has been a challenge for everyone so I have been dealing with it on a day to day basis and marching on. Other personal stuff has been causing interruption in My work + health but I am determined to continue on and keep reaching toward My goal of releasing Corpses 'N Souls.

    The last tasks in 2020 regarding the major engine + CPU optimizations have been a massive success! This allows Me to start working on GPU optimizations and shader improvements plus some other engine system overhauls. Things are going well, and I am optimistic.

    Have had some major setbacks due to COVID and My health. I even lost the vision in one of My eyes which halted any progress on the project so that is why there have not been many updates.

    I am happy to say I am slowly getting back at it and am continuing My optimizations. I am focusing on many departments in the game engine and the CPU is at the top of the list. The goal is to allow Corpses 'N Souls to work even on 2 Core CPUs and up to 128+ Cores.

    CORPSES 'N SOULS Making progress!

    Here is a new screen shot of my current progress that includes my new lighting, optimizations, pathing, per group global illumination, new HUD, new water and a bunch of other items and features I am working on.

    Massive amounts of optimizations and work has been completed on the game engine plus game and things are in amazing shape. More to come in the coming months, prepare your self!

    Here is a smaple of my light optimizations & updates I am working on.

    The whole render is fully dynamically lit now & even the rain drops + water run offs are part of the light passes and all get dynamically projected light plus colors & effects.

    CORPSES 'N SOULS NEW Water + FX

    Here is a small sample of the new water effects and the isolated global illumination for the pathing. As you can see the lighting and render is even and no longer needs none light pass assets to separate the water.

    Also the typical liquid mercury look is no longer present as I have advanced the water tech to look more natural. The results are a combination of a lot of work while majorly decreasing the performance impact.

    Introducing real-time 2D destruction plus the GDC 2018 tech video for 2DEvolved. Now both the world of Corpses 'N Souls and the 2DEvolved game engine have been furnished with real-time 2D destruction. Within today's Dev Log it also features a GDC 2018 tech video for 2DEvolved that showcases 36 features that are all running in-game in a WIP version of Corpses 'N Souls.
